Q: How far are you from
downtown?
A: We are downtown. Our
street is quite, so it is the perfect match of being able to walk downtown and restful sleep. Downtown Asheville is
ruffly 6x6 city blocks. We are on one side of that. It takes 11 minutes to walk to the other side of downtown. You
will not have to pay for parking, and you can leave your car parked here.
Q: Do you provide
linens?
A: Yes, all linens,
blankets, towels & bathmats are provided. Personal linens are actually prohibited, due to the potential of bed
bugs carried in from other hotels, etc. We don't have bed bugs, and don't want them.
Q: Do you have internet
access?
A: Yes, we have several free
computers online, and free WiFi.
Q: What time is
checkout?
A: Checkout is noon. Please
make your room available by noon, or book an additional night before noon. If you see that someone has checked out
already, & your room has been booked for that night, you can simply reserve that room online, and move your things to that
room.
Q: Is it safe?
A: Downtown Asheville is
generally safe, but we are in a city. Your room has it's own key, and is a safer place than your car to leave
valuables. Our buildings also have door codes that change regularly. We always recomend that people lock their
cars, and don't leave anything of value visible at least. We have not had any broken glass on our property, but
guests have had things stolen from their cars with windows left open, or car doors left unlocked. We have never had
anything stolen from a private room. None of our guests have ever experienced violent crime since we opened in
2004.
Q: Is there a way to
cook?
A: Yes, there is a stove at
the property at 28 Ravenscroft Dr. We also provide pancake mix & syrup as well as coffee for free. The property
at 16 Ravenscroft does not have a stove, but does have a griddle. Both properties have refrigerators, microwaves
& sinks etc.
Q: How far are you from the
local bus?
A: We are one block from
theAsheville Transit Center.
All buses come there. Buses generally run hourly during working hours. Buses don't run at all on
Sundays.
Q: How far are you from the
Asheville Regional airport?
A: We are about 15 miles.
There is a bus that goes to the airport, but only during working hours. No buses run on Sunday. The bus is a
dollar, a taxi is around $40. A lot of guests find it cheaper to fly to Charlotte & rent a car, then to change
flights to Asheville. Another option is to take a greyhound bus from Charlotte, which would take around 4 hours.
Atlanta is another possibility, but the trip by buss would be about 8 hours by bus, but 4 by car.
Q: How far are you from the
Greyhoud station?
A: We are about 12 blocks
from the Greyhound station.
Q: What is the difference
between the 2 properties?
A: There is currenly no
difference, other than the lack of stove at 16 Ravenscroft. The properties are 3 doors apart.
